I made this several years ago. It may have been my first attempt at anything freeform, long before I heard of freeform.

I spun all the yarn used in this project on my drop spindle. I knitted it this not long after my home was burgled for the second time with the intention of protecting my home. It’s somewhat hard to see in this photo, but I knitted with two and three colors in several places. The yarns are interwoven and overlapped throughout.

The frame is made of hazel branches given to me by the tree in my backyard, a tree since cut down by someone who cared for it less than I did.
