My oldest daughter really wanted a hood like Lyra’s from The Golden Compass. I followed the Lion Brand pattern, mostly anyway. (Registration is prolly required to view the pattern. Things like that irritate me. I think my name is “no weigh” as far as they’re concerned. )

I used the thick and quick yarn for the off-white and that fake mohair stuff, can’t remember what it’s called, for the colored part. My daughter totally loves the hood, but I think it’s a little bit small. Could be my gauge, which I never bother to check when making hats, or possibly she has a big head, or maybe the “adult” instructions aren’t really big enough.

Doesn’t matter much since she loves it.
